Capitol Engineering Group was honored to provide Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering design services for the Presidential Inaugural Stands in Washington, DC. This iconic project supported the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama, held on January 20, 2009. The event marked a moment of national significance, as the world watched the ceremonial inaugural address and parade unfold on the National Mall.

The design and construction of the stands were inspired by the tradition of outdoor inaugural ceremonies dating back to President James Monroe's oath of office on March 4, 1817, in front of the temporary Brick Capitol (now the site of the Supreme Court).
