Perkins & Will plans to move its D.C. office next year to space the Secret Service used up until a few years ago to park its vehicles.
The global architecture and design firm signed a lease last week with Bernstein Management Corp. for nearly 14,320 square feet at 1222 22nd St. NW, now a nondescript, four-story building sandwiched between two taller structures on D.C.'s West End. Bernstein began renovations last month on the building, which will be expanded to five stories and about 58,000 square feet and converted to boutique office, featuring amenities including penthouse office and rooftop terrace space.
